Giving Customers Tracking Information in the Shipment notification email
One of the biggest flaws in Ablecommerce Gold is it inability to provide tracking information to the Customers. I get calls all the time and this feature would save me time and money.
1) After you enter the tracking information in Ablecommerce it sends a shipping confirmation email. It should have the ability to send the method of shipment and tracking number in that email.
2) When customers log in their account not only should they see the orders but method of shipment and tracking number for that order.

Add IHeaderControl and IFooterControl to your CustomHTML
Add references to those interfaces to the CustomHTML.ascx.cs so that merchant knows it can be used in header and footer.

Provide admin ability to view and modify ALL user addresses (including Shipping Addresses)
In the Admin panel, the ADDRESS tab of a user's account only shows the one main BILLING address for that user.
Sometimes we need to modify a customer's SHIPPING Address - change from Business to Residential... correct spelling that could result in failed shipment delivery or address correction fees... etc.
Currently we have to login as that user to accomplish this, would be much more efficient if Admins could view and modify ALL user addresses - including Shipping Addresses - to effect such mods in the backoffice.

One user for spiders
I suggest using one user for spiders the way you did toward the end in AC 5.5. When they run a site, a lot of anonymous users are created. Maybe because they don't have cookies?

Dashboard Report
In the past 6 months it would be nice to see the CURRENT months progress to compare current month to past months. It is good to see how the current month is doing in comparison.

Allow user to resize WYSIWYG box
The WYSIWYG content boxes are too small and need to allow resizing like in Able 7

Ability to control the order where your templates are

Have the credit card capture amount default to order total, not authroized amount.
Many times the order total changes - usually because we adjust shipping, take shipping out, or add a discount. Problem is, if you are not paying attention, you will "capture" the original authorized amount. And although you can issue a refund, you can't do so until the next day. Plus there is nothing in the system that tells you that the order is now out of balance...
1 voteI’m not sure which version you are using, but this feature already exists in Gold. To confirm, I placed an order with an authorized amount, then I removed an item from the order. On capture, the actual payment amount was adjusted. Closing = Completed

Add Manufactuers Part Number to Variants
I know your working on changes to the variants. Can you tell us if your adding Manufacturer Product Numbers to the variants?
google requires UPC or mpn. Some mfg haver mpn but no UPC and google denys those items as they do not have a unique identifier. I'd love to see the mpn added to the variants. Perhaps your already working on this.

Yes, we have added this field to variants for R10. For this next release, variants will have Retail price, Model #, GTIN, Dimensions, and Special Handling Charges. Plus a new UI so it is easy to enter information, and the ability to enable/disable the display information on your product pages. -
Add hover delay to admin menu so drop-down isn't so sensitive
The categories on the top of the page, (manage, catalog, people, etc.) always drop down even when you are not clicking on it.

Create a Back In Stock Notification feature
Have you guys considered a "Back in stock notification" feature? I wrote one years ago, and it works pretty slick. Basically a shopper sees a "Notify Me" button on a product page when out of stock or purchase disabled. Clicking it renders a popup so the shopper can submit an email address.
A new mailing list is created and named based on that product SKU. The shoppers email is added to the list.
This process repeats allowing for multiple shoppers to sign up to the same single mailing list depending on which SKUs are out of stock.

The ac_CustomFields table already exists. I'd like to see a CustomFields collection on each of the entities, similar to how Products have the ProductCustomField collection.

Blogging Feature With Feedback & Comments
Blogging original content is HUGE for SEO. Currently we have to host our blogs on Wordpress. Why does able not have this feature? Major drawback for this software and it's SEO capabilities.

In Gold R11 (released yesterday), we’ve included controls and some new features that allow you to create “informational” blogs within AbleCommerce. They are using webpages which means the feature fits in nicely with the existing catalog system.I’ve changed the status of this feature to “Started” because we still need to create a user comment section so these can be more traditional blog pages.
If anyone cares to comment, here are some questions we have.
- Do you want to enable comments on a page-per-page basis?
- Do you want the ability to review (or remove) comments before they are posted to the blog?
- Do you want to require users to be registered, or should it be an option?This will help us design the next phase of the…

UPGRADE: Gold R10 was released with this feature. It didn’t have a lot of votes, but it was really required for accounting purposes.

Bootstrap responsive store design
http://getbootstrap.com/ is a front-end framework for developing responsive designs that work across all devices. While the mobile specific template currently in GOLD has the advantage of specifically targeting the device, The downside is that it's another set of templates that must be designed and tested with each release.

We have spent considerable time investigating on how to add a responsive store design to AbleCommerce. We are considering how the feature can be integrated in such as way that will not make it difficult for existing customers to upgrade.

Review your abandoned cart programming.
Hi: The abandoned cart function is usually non-responsive. I try using both the date entry and the back button but usually nothing happens within several minutes so I give up.

Additional Product Option Field - Model #
It would be great to have an addional sku field in the product options. The product itself has a model # field, but that is useless when you have different product options, like shirt sizes/colors

Have a notify system to allow customers to be notified when a particular item is back in stock.
Currently a variant that is set to not allow back-order does not appear in the drop down(which I wish was a grid display with stock status) so that would have to be changed so they can see the item they want to be notified about,.

Add variant skus to searched fields
Currently, AbleCommerce Gold returns results when you enter the product sku in the search. However, if there are options with sku modifiers, searching on the variant sku does not produce any results. In the past we've worked around this by manually including variant skus in the Search Keywords field. It would be great if AbleCommerce integrated variant skus into the search provider.

Add a ShopBy / Filtered Search control
Please cast your vote for a new control that allows shoppers to filter products by using custom product attributes like Size, Color, Price, etc.
