Merge orders from different accounts
We have cusotmers who sign up accounts and enter orders under different accounts. Be nice if we could clean these up by merging.

Purchasing Reminders for Expired Products
Many products have expiration dates. It would be nice to send out email reminders when the product is approaching expiry. Perhaps this could be merged into the subscription module.
1 voteIn Gold R7, we added a huge recurring orders / autoship feature. When you use subscriptions, then an expiration email can be sent out as many times as you like before the actual expiration. There are actually several email options added with the new feature. To maintain compatibility, the original subscription feature remained unchanged. You have to enable the Recurring Orders feature to see the new template options.

Add CANCEL option to order page
Add ability to CANCEL an order in Admin from the order page. Able 7.0.7 had a drop down with actions that could be performed on the order. Many of the those options are now buttons but CANCEL is not available on the order admin page.
1 voteIn Gold, we moved some of the more common actions to the buttons. However, you can still Cancel an order in Gold. There is a link “Change Status” which will give you that option.

Create ability to allow partial payments from customers for existing and/or new orders.
A use case would be for a special order item that requires 50% down payment. You could even incorporate this into a "layaway" payment option.

Use TinyMCE as editor for product template text area fields
It would be a huge benefit to product templates if the Text Area product template field type would render using the HTML editor instead of standard multi-line text box. Maybe at least for Merchant Side fields.
Often times a client wants to add additional HTML-enabled description fields to the edit-product page. Currently that requires editing two files, possibly four if you do the add-product page as well.
All of that admin-side customization could be eliminated by supporting this simple improvement. We do everything through standard product templates that are easily parsed back out in the front-end.

Inventory management report.
We need a report, and I had one custom made that no longer works in Gold, that organizes by manufacturer, and includes stock quantity, as well as variants, and the sales data for a specified period of time. You have the data now with the sales report by product. Just need to pull in the inventory level to that report and its a very useful inventory management tool. Then as a bonus there was a way to enter qty ordered and when and expected date which is now also a feature in Gold. he info is there for the most…

maximum value for shipping method
basically allow first class mail for small orders under a set amount which it does not allow now. So we have customers ordering with first class even though we stipulate its for under 50.00 only,

Admin menu
Sometimes we see problems with the admin horizontal menu being displayed with one menu item on top on another if the browser is set to use a larger font or a top menu item has been added. Can you move the search box into the header where the Able logo and icons are- like the icon for dashboard.

PLEASE add the feature back where when you go to the admin login you see the build and version number
On the 7.x stores when you went to www.domain.com\admin it took you do the admin login. It was a big help and time saver to be able to see the build and version of the store without having to login. it is ESPECIALLY helpful with a new client who is telling you they are on the newest version, we think gold, only to find out that they are on 7.0.6 so the 30 minute discussion you just had is wasted. You would be surprised how many clients have no idea the exact version they are on. It also helps when…

Export report on every page
Can there be more export buttons on reporting pages (e.g. gift certificates, etc.) not just the few that exist now

add dimension variants to product options
you should be able to add dimensions variants as well as weight to a product option, because choosing different options like size also has an affect on shipping dimensions, and there is currently no way to pass anything other than a different weight to the shipping module.

We are looking at this for the next release. Some other enhancements have been made to variants for the upcoming release, so we might be abe to sneak this one in.

What we have done in Gold R8 is add a new control where you can list the product specials. A special can be time sensitive, so by using the new control and specifying ‘daily specials’, this feature can be considered completed and available in R8.

Additional handling/shipping charge
An additional field in the product maintenance (under "Shipping, Tax and Inventory") that would allow an extra shipping/handling charge for the specific item that would be automatically added to the shipping charge(s).

This feature has been added to AbleCommerce Gold R9. You can create a custom order status and set event triggers for printing invoices and/or packing lists.

Actually remove subscriptions from payment gateway provider
When cancelling or deleting a subscription, AC should communicate with the payment gateway to delete it. Right now, a subscription can be removed in AC, but the customer will keep getting charged unless the merchant manually removes the subscription from the payment gateway's system.
1 voteIf you use the Authorize.net CIM gateway, this is possible. With gateways that are not storing the customer profile, it needs to be cancelled manually.

Credit Card storage on gateway provider
Add the ability to store the customer's credit card info on the gateway instead of within AC. With CyberSource, this is referred to as Payment Tokenization, which uses a subscription with a frequency set to "on-demand". I'm not sure how other gateways handle this.

Limit products to certain Groups
The ability to limit certain products to only be available to be seen by certain Customer Classes (or User Groups as AC calls them) would be a valuable feature. For example, if a certain product is sold to both CONSUMERS and DISTRIBUTORS, two individual products could be created with different SKUs, and one product's info could be tailored towards Consumers and the other one's info tailored towards Distributors. Good functionality would be to have a box on the PRODUCT'S admin page that displayed all User Groups available in the system with checkboxes next to them, allow admin to check ones…

Advanced shipping settings
Create more advanced shipping features. An example of this would be a plugin created for BV Commerce by Structured Solutions (called Shipping Rate Rule Providers). This is now going to be native for the new BV Commerce. It creates rules for nearly any shipping situation. Currently I have to make multiple warehouses (with the same address) and add specific carriers to each warehouse then assign products to the appropriate warehouse. Some of my items can't ship USPS and some items can only ship ground. It would be nice to use a product template and create shipping rules based off of…
