Advanced shipping settings
Create more advanced shipping features. An example of this would be a plugin created for BV Commerce by Structured Solutions (called Shipping Rate Rule Providers). This is now going to be native for the new BV Commerce. It creates rules for nearly any shipping situation. Currently I have to make multiple warehouses (with the same address) and add specific carriers to each warehouse then assign products to the appropriate warehouse. Some of my items can't ship USPS and some items can only ship ground. It would be nice to use a product template and create shipping rules based off of the template.
Some idaas mentioned are available in R7. Please add new feedback suggestions for anything additional.

In our next version, you'll have the ability to set a maximum value for a shipping method. We've also added a special shipping/handling charge field to the product data. And the handling charge will have an additional option to be calculated as a percentage. I know there will be more requests coming, and we're going to need specific details about the shipping needs of merchants. For R7, we hope you like the improvments so far. It looks like Structured Solutions is no longer in business, so we never got a chance to look at the plugin mentioned. Web2Market.com has a plug-in called Shipper 3 that might be worth looking into.

Setting a maximum on a shipping method is much needed. Also insurance on postal is a must have. Simple fix is to have handling charge as a % of the order instead of a % of the shipping charge. Was really hoping this was fixed with Gold since so many have asked for this over the years.

This would definitely help us. Currently when we have products that can only be shipped via ground ( because they are aerosol ) we have them in a separate warehouse. But if a customer orders more than one item, he/she has to pay for 2 shipments when we would just like the order itself to only enable the ground shipment on checkout if one or more products flag it for a special rule.
Also in ablecommerce shipping methods is a minimum value option to enable a shipping method. We would like to see a maximum value option so if someone is ordering a $300 item, he/she cant select first class mail.

It would be good to have more flexibility, like not having to set specific warehouses for work-arounds. Possibly make thinks like a shipment weight overrideable. We have to make fake products with a weight for things like this now.
