    UPDATE 2: In case someone is interested, we have a developer Wiki article which has some instructions and sample code to integrate Gold with Google search.

    UPDATE 1: We are still looking into this request. Unfortunately, it didn’t make it into the last version. It will require significant changes to the search queries which are already very complex.

    It is still under consideration though. Hopefully, it will be possible. If we had more votes, that might influence the decision to add it.

    Criteria could include: Capitalization (all lower case, camel case, ...), word separator, include product ID, include extension, include hierarchy levels (x - y)

    You can show the out-of-stock variants by adding an availability date. In Gold R12, there is a new feature so customers can signup to be notified when the itme is back in stock.

    I’m leaving the status of this request as “under review” because we would like to add a store option to show out-of-stock variants without the dependancy on the availability date.

    Something to keep in mind, One of my clients, who's a manufacturer, needs to be able to allow users to order out of stock items and just display the "lead time" for out of stock items. We were able to tweak the code in 7.0.7 to do what we needed in combination with the Allow Backorder flag. I haven't looked into it on Gold yet but will be soon.
