Remember sort setting on category pages, etc.
I browse the store and change the sort from "Featured" to sorted a->z. However this setting is not remembered and it should throughout the site so I don't have to change it every time. It is not persisted in any way presently.

Checkout/EditBillAddress.aspx
Why change the header for this page? This has a hard-coded header and just uses the StoreLogo. Why not just show the store header like all the other pages. Doesn't make a lot of sense to change the store header layout just because you're checking out.

Orphaned <p> tags wreaking havoc with styles
When using the "EditContentPage" form within the admin panel, <p> tags are wrapped - and persisted - around any user controls added to a given Webpage. The problem is that the "HtmlContainer" class within the source code strips the user control syntax out of that webpage, leaving an orphaned open and closing <p> tag, which somewhere along the way get turned into 2, separate <p> elements (one before and one after the user control code injection). This results in extra vertical space caused by these unnecessary <p> elements.
2 votesThis happens because of the TinyMCE editor. We decided it’s best not to try and alter the behavior of the TinyMCE editor. You may use a non-wysiwyg editor if desired.

catalog filtering/finder/browsing capabilities sidebar
Browsing/Finder/Filtering capabilities in AbleCommerce really suck. I was hoping that AbleCommerce gold would change that which is being touted as next generation platform is still lacking a decent filtering capabilities. Current sidebar only supports category, manufacturer and keyword filtering.
The sidebar control for filtering/finder should be further developed to accommodate template fields and product options (for variants). This will allow AbleCommerce to have filtering capabilities similar to ebay. I see a huge value in this and it will also allow AbleCommerce to really stand out in competition.

Vendor Packing List issue
Hi, when a customer places an order and it sends a packing list to the vendor it is sending the complete list of all products ordered to all of the vendors rather than just the specific products required from the specific vendor. I have VERSION: 7.0
BUILD: 10863. I am launching my new Gold version in the very near future so I just wanted to ensure that the new software wouldn't have the same issues...Thanks

AbleCommerce is a great developer product, it would be even better you were to have an MVC store template.

Continue Shopping
Is there a way to have people go back to the page they just added something to the cart on instead of the home page when they hit continue shopping? Let me know please thx

What are non shipping items
After confirming her order, I ended the phone call with my client. Then I saw that at the end of her order on another screen was an item listed as "non-shipping items". I was unaware of a problem as this grouping did not appear on the list I used to confirm her order. If we need to know something won't be shipped, the information should appear on the screens at an earlier time. Will my client receive the toilet paper she ordered and I confirmed was on the order?

Vegetable groups
Plain vegetable should consist of individual veggies not the blends. Under plain is this listing Green Giant CRKPPR/SSLT BRSL SPRT Steamables. What in the world is this? Under blends are listed the bags of carrots and corn that i spent a long time looking for in the "plain" category. Blends are more than one vegetable in a package. My order took twice as long as it should have due to these kinds of issues.

Blocking rogue bots, long querystrings
We see hundreds of errors on sites relating to bots that don't respect the robots.txt file or requests that have too long querystrings, etc. What about implementing something like the following? I know it can be done by adding entries to the web.config file, but what about an admin interface, or do you think that would be too confusing to the normal merchant?

Search should include webpages
Even enabling full text searching does not include webpages in the results. Adding that would be fantastic.

Password Reset Link is Not Encrypted
When a customer resets a password for their account they get an email with a link to reset their password. Some security conscious customers have commented that the link should start with https. I have tested out password reset on instagram and they send an email with a link starting with https. It should be a small change and will make an Able site more professional.

If SSL is enabled we already create the link with HTTPS.
If SSL is not enabled we create simple HTTP link.This is how it should be. Closing this as ‘Not a Bug’

Pictures that were uploaded now smaller
I don't know when this started to occur, but all the images in the image gallery are now very small. Even if those pictures are opened in another tab. You can zoom in but the pictures are very pixelated. The original file is still large and I can re-upload each picture but will take a whole lot of time. The re-uploaded pictures are of the correct size.

Internet Explorer 7.0
We just converted to Able Commerce Gold and we are having trouble with users accessing our site from IE 7.0. Is Gold compatible with Internet Explorer 7?
1 voteAccording to the latest statistics, 1.72% of users may still be using IE7. That browser was released back in 2006. Unfortunately, AbleCommerce Gold is not designed or tested for that version.

MOVE THE TABS TO THE SIDE
THE DROPDOWN MENU FROM THE TABS ALWAYS GET IN THE WAY
1 voteThe entire admin UI is designed with the menu along the top. It would be a complete redesign to change it at this point. However, in the next version (R10), we have added some code to delay the menu drop down when your mouse hovers over it. The delay should make it less annoying when your mouse hovers over the menu item.
