Blogging Feature With Feedback & Comments
Blogging original content is HUGE for SEO. Currently we have to host our blogs on Wordpress. Why does able not have this feature? Major drawback for this software and it's SEO capabilities.

In Gold R11 (released yesterday), we’ve included controls and some new features that allow you to create “informational” blogs within AbleCommerce. They are using webpages which means the feature fits in nicely with the existing catalog system.I’ve changed the status of this feature to “Started” because we still need to create a user comment section so these can be more traditional blog pages.
If anyone cares to comment, here are some questions we have.
- Do you want to enable comments on a page-per-page basis?
- Do you want the ability to review (or remove) comments before they are posted to the blog?
- Do you want to require users to be registered, or should it be an option?This will help us design the next phase of the…

Add CustomFields collection to all entities
The ac_CustomFields table already exists. I'd like to see a CustomFields collection on each of the entities, similar to how Products have the ProductCustomField collection.

Bootstrap responsive store design
http://getbootstrap.com/ is a front-end framework for developing responsive designs that work across all devices. While the mobile specific template currently in GOLD has the advantage of specifically targeting the device, The downside is that it's another set of templates that must be designed and tested with each release.

We have spent considerable time investigating on how to add a responsive store design to AbleCommerce. We are considering how the feature can be integrated in such as way that will not make it difficult for existing customers to upgrade.

Create a Back In Stock Notification feature
Have you guys considered a "Back in stock notification" feature? I wrote one years ago, and it works pretty slick. Basically a shopper sees a "Notify Me" button on a product page when out of stock or purchase disabled. Clicking it renders a popup so the shopper can submit an email address.
A new mailing list is created and named based on that product SKU. The shoppers email is added to the list.
This process repeats allowing for multiple shoppers to sign up to the same single mailing list depending on which SKUs are out of stock.

Ability to turn off WYSIWYG
It would be a nice feature to be able to turn off/on the wysiwyg editor via a setting in the General page in store configuration. This way we wouldn't have to go and edit each file to replace <cb:HtmlEditor ID="##" runat="server" Width="100%">/cb:HtmlEditor with <textarea>
We use dreamweaver and visual studio to create our webpages and content descriptions, and when we paste it into the editor, even when we go into the HTML Source Editor, the code gets stripped. So we've resorted to replacing the <cb:HtmlEditor> with <textarea> to allow us to use our html code.

UPDATE: In Gold R10, there will be a new store setting so you can choose whether the WYSIWYG editor is inline or shows an html field (like in version 7)
I can’t agree more. I’m talking with the developers about making this a setting preference. I see no reason why we can’t have it in the next version.

Add variant skus to searched fields
Currently, AbleCommerce Gold returns results when you enter the product sku in the search. However, if there are options with sku modifiers, searching on the variant sku does not produce any results. In the past we've worked around this by manually including variant skus in the Search Keywords field. It would be great if AbleCommerce integrated variant skus into the search provider.

Add Title Field to ac_Categories Table and in Admin UI
Good move putting the meta descriptions and keywords as separate fields in ac_categories. I assume this automatically adds the necessary HTML to those pages when they are rendered. However, there is no place for a title field. If I put <title> tags into one of the meta fields, the html won't render properly and the title will be embedded within the meta data. Each category needs a separate title field, and the proper <title> tags should be produced in the proper spot on page render.

Remove bug when hit "enter" key
I am frustrated when I hit the enter key after typing an entry in the search bar and I'm immediately returned to the homescreen.

A few weeks after a customer has purchased a product it would be great to send them a reminder email to come back and review the product.

Add meta title field to product
I can't believe there is no separate meta title field for the product entry. This is an SEO standard. I have to create a template field and tell my customers they need to edit the meta title in a completely separate screen. Every one of them looks at me like 'That's stupid'.

Batch Edit Categories
It would be great for bigger catalogs to have a batch edit screen for categories. Similar to products, you can select a master category, and what fields you want to edit, and then have the ability to edit all the subcategories at the same time. This way theres the ability to bulk update visibility, custom urls, and most especially display pages.
It would be so much easier to have the ability at least to bulk update a category's child categories display pages.

Add a ShopBy / Filtered Search control
Please cast your vote for a new control that allows shoppers to filter products by using custom product attributes like Size, Color, Price, etc.

Add entire categories when creating coupons.
When you create a coupon, why do you have to assign it to products one by one. Why not allow entire categories to be added. We run coupons based on lines and some of them have over a thousand SKUs. Quite the pain to add them one at a time!
7 votesCoupons must be associated to products so we can manage the various aspects of tracking the usage. For example, there are features which prevent combining coupons or using them more than once. Because there are coupons for shipping, products, and orders, we have to track them on an individual basis. Now, in our last release of R7, we have added the ability to easily update coupons en masse. From the search page, you can select a category and easily (with 2 clicks) update all products in that category with a coupon.

Merge orders from different accounts
We have cusotmers who sign up accounts and enter orders under different accounts. Be nice if we could clean these up by merging.

Inventory management report.
We need a report, and I had one custom made that no longer works in Gold, that organizes by manufacturer, and includes stock quantity, as well as variants, and the sales data for a specified period of time. You have the data now with the sales report by product. Just need to pull in the inventory level to that report and its a very useful inventory management tool. Then as a bonus there was a way to enter qty ordered and when and expected date which is now also a feature in Gold. he info is there for the most…

Create a true one page Checkout
Please bring back the one page checkout like in 7.0.7.

Default Product Option assignment
For Products with Options/Variants, admin should have the ability to assign the default "configuration" if desired. If a default is assigned, those options should be selected when a customer first loads the product page in the store.

Integrate with ShipStation
ShipStation was just purchased by Stamps.com. We use ShipStation to aggregate shipping across five other platforms [BigCommerce, Shopify, Amazon.com, Wish and manual entries].
