Remove ability to DELETE payments, or provide an audit trail
I am new to Able... in fact my site is not live yet (hopefully next week!).
While I think overall AC seems to be an EXCELLENT ecommerce package, I am a little disappointed in the accounting aspects.
Primarily, I don't understand why it allows one to completely DELETE a payment. This would seem to open up a hole for potential theft.
My suggestions would be (in this order):
1) remove the ability to delete a payment - a refund is adequate to make a customer whole, or...
2) make the ability to delete a payment a "special privilege" that must be assigned to a user, or...
3) at least provide an "audit trail" - keep the original payment shown in the Payments window, and show on a separate line that the payment has been "cancelled", and show what user cancelled it.
If there is something about this functionality that I am misunderstanding, please advise.
