Hold emails in a queue until sent such as in the case of a mail server offline
If the email server is rebooted, or being upgraded, etc. etc. AbleCommerce errors out when sending an email. This occurs in 707, I don't know if it's in GOLD but I assume it's the same. Instead, it would be a much better solution of emails were cached (queued) and removed when sent successfully. This would ensure drop shippers (vendors) never miss an order notification, a customer always gets their information, etc.

The Ability to queue emails until sent would be a great idea.

It would still be best though if the emails were stored/queued and removed from the store when send succeeds. Possibly also consider a secondary SMTP sending server option.
