Additional Desktop Shipping Integrations
We use Stamps.com for our USPS shipping. It would be great if Ablecommerce could integrate with stamps.com to expand on the Data Import/Export section of the site. Being able to have the desktop software communicate with the catalog to enable batch shipping/tracking would be an amazing time saver compared to manually entering everything.
Stamps.com has a developer site, http://developer.stamps.com/developer/

You should be able to ship directly from the admin order page like many other ecommerce platforms do. Non of this "exporting and importing" stuff or "pulling from here to there". You should be able to simply click "ship order" and a dialog will popup requiring you to choose a method, UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc., Then a prefilled form appears. You simply need to verify shipping address and weight and click "ship", which will print a label and return the tracking number automatically. Other e-commerce platforms do this as well as QuickBooks.

We use the endicia.com pro service and pull orders directly from our backend SQL database, I'd assume you'd be able to pull from the AC database too, but it puts more load on you webserver.

Shipper 3 (by Web2Market) and ShipRush (by Z-Firm) work wonderful together. Shipper 3 connects to your store and auto fills your customers information into the ShipRush programs (FedEx, UPS and Stamps). Shipper 3 will automatically update the order in AbleCommerce and add the tracking information. Definitely worth the investment! Talk to Brad at Web2Market.
